Assembly Middle layer

This page introduces how to assemble the DIY KIT Middle layer.

  1. Place the middle plate.



  1. Fasten the bottom plate and the middle plate using four flat head nuts.



  1. Install four supporters.



  1. Place the sonar sensor bracket.



  1. Install the sonar sensor on the sonar sensor bracket.



6. A photo installed correctly. The role of a sonar sensor is to measure distance by emitting high-frequency sound waves and detecting their reflections. The sonar sensor emits sound waves and then calculates the time it takes for the waves to bounce back to the sensor. By using this time and the speed of sound, the sonar sensor can determine the distance to the object in front of it.



  1. Install the sonar sensor module to the middle plate and connect the sonar sensor cable.



  1. Install the battery and battery bracket.



  1. Remove the two nuts marked in red on the Jetson Nano.

  1. Install the LAN card and antennas.



  1. Install the Jetson Nano Core again and tighten two nuts.



  1. Install the cooling fan and connect the connector.



  1. Insert the SD card at the red mark.



  1. A photo installed correctly.



  1. Assemble the Jetson Nano to fit the four supporters.



  1. Connect the USB cables to the Jetson Nano.



  1. Properly connect the power cable to the Jetson Nano’s 5V, GND terminal.



  1. Connect the CSI camera cable to the Jetson Nano’s camera port.



  1. Connect the lidar cable to the terminals on the Jetson Nano in the correct position.



  1. A photo installed correctly.



  1. Install four posts to the middle plate.
